Man tossed onto Kellogg from moving car

WICHITA — Two former classmates aren't likely to be best friends at a class reunion someday — one helped push the other out of a moving car onto West Kellogg on Thursday evening, police said.

An 18-year-old man told police he was walking in the 1100 block of South Seneca at 7:45 p.m. Thursday when a Dodge Neon pulled up and the driver asked him if he wanted a ride. Because he recognized the driver as someone he went to high school with, he agreed.

While they were driving, a 15-year-old boy in the back seat asked the passenger if he had anything in his pockets. That angered the passenger, who punched the boy in the face.

A scuffle in the car broke out, and the driver and back-seat passenger opened the door and pushed the victim out the passenger door and onto Kellogg in the 3800 block — between Meridian and West streets, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of road rash and other minor injuries. The search for the suspects continues.
