Shoplifter backs into two people at Halloween store

WICHITA — Two people reported they were struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon when they tried to get a tag number after an alleged shoplifting at a Halloween Express store.

The 26-year-old woman and 30-year-old man reported they were struck about 3 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot at 8143 E. Kellogg.

Someone took items out of the store, dropping them on the way out, and the man and woman were trying to get the person's vehicle tag when the alleged shoplifter put the vehicle in reverse and struck them, a police report says.

The man and woman suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
