WICHITA — Two men are in custody this afternoon following a burglary in north Wichita that included shots being fired by the victim, authorities said.
The burglary was reported shortly after 1:30 p.m. at 503 W. Kopplin, southeast of I-235 and Arkansas Avenue, a Sedgwick County dispatcher reported.
A neighbor reported hearing shots fired, and officers responding to the burglary call spotted and pursued the suspects. A few minutes later, the suspects crashed their car at 53rd and Porter, where they were taken into custody.
The burglary victim was treated for minor injuries, the dispatcher said. The shots did not hit anyone.
