Man pleads not guilty in Mould murder

EL DORADO _ A Butler County man charged with murder in the 2004 death of Carol Mould pleaded not guilty today, and a judge set a Jan. 12 trial date.

Bill Moore's not-guilty plea occurred during a brief arraignment this morning in Butler County District Court.

Mould, 46, was found dead in her burning house, just off K-254, on Sept. 22, 2004.

In an preliminary hearing earlier this month, witnesses said that Moore, 55, told them he killed Mould.

An investigator testified that Moore said he strangled Mould. Moore began confessing after a 911 call to his home in May, when he was reported to be suicidal, witnesses testified.
