Another H1N1-related death reported

The ninth death in Kansas of a person infected with the H1N1 virus has been confirmed by state public health officials.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said a 62-year-old man from northeast Kansas had underlying health conditions that put him at greater risk for complications from the virus. The H1N1 virus was a contributing factor in his death, KDHE said.

The symptoms caused by the H1N1 virus are similar to the symptoms of seasonal flu and include fever greater than 100 degrees, body aches, coughing, sore throat, respiratory congestion, and in some cases, diarrhea and vomiting.
