A 69-year-old man died after his vehicle crashed into a power pole Friday night in Newton.
Newton police said the man was driving south in the 200 block of South Main shortly after 11 p.m. when the vehicle veered across the northbound lanes and struck the pole.
Emergency medical workers took the driver to Newton Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at midnight.
The Harvey County Coroner's Office is conducting an autopsy to determine if an underlying medical condition may have played a role, said Sgt. Bryan Hall of the Newton Police.
The man's name was not released Saturday.
