Girl, 8, critically wounded in KCK drive-by shooting

Drive-by gunfire critically wounded an 8-year-old girl early Saturday inside a Kansas City, Kan., house.

The bullets also struck the victim's 12-year-old cousin, but her injuries are not life-threatening, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. in the 300 block of South 10th Street.

Officers in the area after the shooting spotted the suspect's vehicle and a chase ensued.

The suspect crashed at Seventh Street and Kansas Avenue.
