COLUMBIA| A malfunctioning sprinkler system is blamed for water damage to some of the documents stored at the Missouri Historical Society in Columbia.
Officials say the damage was confined to backup copies of state documents and agency reports from the 1970s to early 1980s. No unique, one-of-a-kind materials were damaged.
The water leak occurred Wednesday evening. The Historical Society is located in the library at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
