Chiefs add two players with Patriots ties

The Chiefs filled their roster vacancies by signing linebacker David Herron and cornerback Mike Richardson. Not surprisingly, both players have ties to the New England Patriots.

Herron, who played in college at Michigan State, was with the Patriots for one game in 2007. The rest of his two-year NFL career was played with Minnesota. He made three starts for the Vikings.

Richardson, who played in college at Notre Dame, was a sixth-round draft pick of the Patriots and he played in 10 games for New England last year.
