A man was in serious condition after being shot Tuesday evening at 55th Street and Indiana Avenue.
About 9:20 p.m., police were called to a street a block north of the shooting scene. By the time police arrived, the victim had made his way to 55th Street and College Avenue and was asking neighbors to call an ambulance, according to police Capt. Todd Marckx. Officers found the victim in front of a house there.
The 18-year-old victim was not cooperative, Marckx said. The victim said he was shot while walking down the street. Police found shell casings at 55th and Indiana.
The man’s injuries were originally thought to be life threatening, but hospital officials said he was in stable condition while in surgery Tuesday night.
