Man says 'sorry' as he robs convenience store

An apologetic robber left with cash and cigarettes from a south Wichita convenience store on Thursday, police said.

The man came into B&H Fast Trips at 1203 E. Pawnee at about 11:25 a.m. and brandished a screwdriver as weapon, a clerk told police. He told the clerk he was sorry that he had to rob the place, and then demanded cash and several packs of cigarettes.

He drove off in a black Hyundai Santa Fe, the clerk told police. The suspect is a white man about 5-feet-9 and between 40 and 50 years of age.

He had blonde hair with a reddish-blonde mustache, and wore blue jeans, a dark blue shirt and a black ball cap with yellow writing on it.
