Missouri woman leads police on high-speed chase

BILLINGS, Mont. | A 65-year-old woman from Missouri who police say topped out at 130 mph during a chase along Interstate 90 is facing charges.

The Montana Highway Patrol arrested Olive Nightingale, of Park Hills, Mo., Monday after the chase ended near Lockwood.

The chase began after Nightingale allegedly was clocked driving faster than 100 mph. Montana Highway Patrol Officer Justin Kirchheck says he alternated between 115 and 130 mph during his pursuit of Nightingale’s vehicle, whizzing by several cars in the process.

The chase ended when Nightingale’s vehicle drove over a set of spikes put in the road by Yellowstone County deputies.

Police say Nightingale was issued citations for speeding and fleeing from or eluding a police officer.

Authorities say she was taken to a Billings clinic for a psychological evaluation.
