Bicyclist suffers life-threatening injuries after being hit by car in Overland Park

A bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday night when he was struck by a car in Overland Park.

According to Overland Park police, a 41-year-old man, was riding his bike near 75th and Walmer streets a little after 8 p.m. when he was struck from behind by a dark-colored vehicle. The impact launched the bicyclist off his bike and onto the hood of the vehicle.

Neither the 80-year-old driver or his 79-year-old passenger, both from Overland Park, were injured.

Police are continuing to investigate.
