Man in custody for Forensic Science Center break-in

Wichita police arrested a 33-year-old man suspected of breaking into the Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center today.

Officers chased the man on foot, then took him into custody after using a Taser on him, police said.

According to police, the man broke into the building in the 1100 block of North Minneapolis through a window at about 5:30 a.m.

He took a computer, then fled the building when he realized someone was inside, police said.

Officers spotted the man and began their pursuit.

After taking the man into custody, police took him to Wesley Medical Center to be treated for cuts he sustained when he broke through the window, police said.
