A key bridge that gets Kansas Citians to the lake will open at midday today.
The Missouri highway department plans to open the Route 2 Bridge east of Freeman after it had been closed for a little more than a month.
The closure affected drivers from south Kansas City or Johnson County, Kan., who wanted to get to Stockton, Truman, Pomme de Terre, Montrose, Table Rock, Bull Shoals and Taneycomo lakes.
The bridge closed July 21 so work crews could replace and repair the bridge deck. The project cost $348,000.
