MANHATTAN | The Kansas State Foundation reports that it received $81.5 million in contributions during the last fiscal year.
That's an 18 percent decrease from the previous year, but still the fifth-highest total in the university's history.
Paul Stephenson, chairman of the foundation's Board of Directors, says the group is pleased with the total given the nation's struggling economy. He says nearly 43,000 alumni and friends made contributions.
The Manhattan Mercury reports that the foundation's highest contribution total came last year, when it collected $99.5 million.
