Missouri fugitive caught in Mississippi

MENDENHALL, Miss. | A Missouri fugitive who allegedly tried to run down a sheriff and a deputy at a roadblock has been captured.

Authorities say 37-year-old Daniel Jaggers Jr. of Hallsville, Mo., was spotted by a police helicopter about 3 p.m. Friday near Mendenhall. He was arrested after being run down by a search dog.

Jaggers is being held in the Simpson County Jail on various felony counts, including two counts of aggravated assault against police officers.

A court hearing is scheduled for Monday.
