TAMPA, Fla. | Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib has been arrested for allegedly punching a taxi driver.
Talib, who played at Kansas, posted bail Thursday on charges of simple battery and resisting arrest without violence. The Florida Highway Patrol arrest report said Talib punched the driver in the neck and ear after he picked up the 23-year-old cornerback and two other men late Wednesday night.
The Bucs said they had no immediate comment on the incident.
Talib was the team's No. 1 draft pick last year, and expected to start this season. The incident wasn't his first brush with trouble.
Already this offseason, Talib swung his helmet at a teammate and accidentally struck another. At the NFL's Rookie Symposium, he got into a fight with then-teammate Cory Boyd.
