Crews will try again to close ramps on U.S. 69 for road project

For a third time, highway crews this morning will try to close the ramps to and from southbound U.S. 69 at 95th Street in Overland Park.

The Kansas highway department already has tried this twice, and it’s been delayed twice because of bad weather. Today’s closure is supposed to start by 7 a.m.

The ramps are expected to be closed until late September until temporary ones can be built. The lane closures are part of an $82 million project to widen 69 to three lanes in each direction.

There will be other work to look out for as well.

Beginning at 7:30 p.m. today, U.S. 69 will be down to one lane in both directions from College Boulevard to Blue Valley Parkway. The closure will last until 5:30 Friday morning.
