TOPEKA | Three men have been arrested in Topeka for soliciting sex from someone they thought was a 13-year-old girl, in a weeklong Internet sting that concluded Tuesday.
Officials say one of the men drove two hours and another drove one hour to meet the “girl,” who was really an undercover investigator. The third man, a Topeka resident, was charged on Tuesday with two counts of electronic sexual solicitation of a child.
No charges had been filed against the other two men as of Tuesday night.
Shawnee County District Attorney Chad Taylor says the arrests are a deterrent to others who think about searching for underage girls for sex on the Internet.
