A man in his 50s is in critical condition tonight after somebody he was arguing with shot him.
The victim was with a group of two to four people in the street about a half block east of 60th Terrace and Swope Parkway around 7 p.m. when a man in the group shot the victim.
The victim might have been intoxicated, and he knew the mix of men and women he was arguing with, according to police Sgt. Randal Anderson.
The suspect fled, and police have received contradictory descriptions of him from witnesses.
The victim's injuries were initially said to be life threatening, but later he was believed to be in stable condition.
