RIVER FALLS, Wis. | After 24 hours of intense negotiations, the Chiefs signed their first-round draft choice, defensive end Tyson Jackson of Louisiana State.
The Chiefs have a practice scheduled for this afternoon and it’s possible Jackson could participate, even in a limited way. The Chiefs also have an intrasquad scrimmage scheduled for Saturday.
Linebacker Wes Dacus was released to clear roster room for Jackson.
Jackson’s signing comes a week after the Chiefs opened their training camp. Alfonso Boone had been occupying Jackson’s spot at the starting left defensive end. Rookie Alex Magee and Glenn Dorsey have shared the other starting end spot.
