Suspect in Cole Camp slayings granted continuance

WARSAW, Mo. | A suspect in the murders of his aunt, uncle and their granddaughter has been granted a continuance in his case.

During a hearing Monday in Benton County Circuit Court, 45-year-old Robert B. Blurton was given a continuance until Aug. 18 to give him time to meet with legal counsel, who has not yet been assigned.

Blurton is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Donald, Sharon and Taron Luetjen, who were found dead from gunshot wounds in their Cole Camp home June 9.

Blurton, of Garnett, Kan., pleaded not guilty last week.

Investigators say they are continuing to look for a second suspect in the Luetjens’ deaths.
