JEFFERSON CITY | Gov. Jay Nixon is awarding grants to help Missouri schools improve technology used in classrooms.
Nixon was scheduled to announce more than $4 million worth of grants Tuesday.
The funds are being drawn from the federal stimulus package and distributed through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Schools applied for the money through a competitive application process.
Nixon planned to make the announcement at the Carnahan High School of the Future in St. Louis. The governor was to be joined on a tour of the school by U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan.
