TOPEKA | The Kansas Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction of a Pittsburg man found guilty of a 2006 shooting.
Albert E. Richmond was convicted and sentenced to prison and not eligible for parole for 50 years for the shooting death of Tyrone Owens. Owens was shot multiple times after selling marijuana to another occupant of a car Richmond was riding in. Richmond was arrested in Florida 10 days after the shooting.
Two other men in the car entered plea agreements and were sentenced to prison. Charges against a fourth man were dropped.
Justice Lawton Nuss said the issues raised by Richmond that prosecutors made errors at his trial were not grounds for granting his appeal.
