10-year-old driver taken to Children's Mercy after being injured in pickup crash

HORTON, Kan. | A 10-year-old Horton boy is seriously injured after a pickup truck he was driving crashed in rural Atchison County Sunday night.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the boy, identified as Tyler Lowe, was driving a 1995 Dodge pickup truck that was used as a farm vehicle when he crashed. It was not immediately clear why the boy was driving the truck.

The patrol says the pickup truck overturned after it crashed. Tyler had to be lifeflighted to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
