Three teens face murder trials in March death

WICHITA — Three teenagers will be tried as adults in the death of a 28-year-old man in March.

Giovanni Gonzalez, 18, was arraigned today on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of Arturo Moreno Jr.

Luis Navarette-Pacheco, 17, and Rogelio Soto Jr., 16, were charged with first-degree murder on Thursday.

The three are scheduled to go on trial Sept. 8, said Georgia Cole, a spokeswoman for the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office.

Moreno was stabbed to death in his south Wichita home on March 17, authorities have said.
