Armed man robs west Wichita bank

WICHITA — The Central Bank & Trust branch at 7137 W. Central was robbed this morning by a man with a semi-automatic handgun in his waistband, Wichita police said.

Police said the man entered the bank shortly before 10:45 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money.

He left with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white extended-cab pickup with a front vanity plate that said Lubber's Chevrolet in Cheney.

The suspect was described by police as a white man in his mid-40s who weighs 155 to 175 pounds, and is 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 11 inches tall. Police said he has black hair, a thick black mustache, a tanned face and untanned legs. He wore a black T-shirt, stone-washed jean shorts and aviator sunglasses.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316- 267-2111.
