More speeders ticketed on Kellogg

WICHITA — The monthlong crackdown on speeding motorists on Kellogg continued Monday, as police officers wrote 72 traffic citations over a six-hour period in west Wichita.

All but two of the citations were for speeding, officials said. The remaining two were for running a red light.

Officers wrote 52 citations near Tyler Road, 16 near Mid-Continent Road and four near Maize Road. The highest speed recorded during the six-hour period was 78 miles an hour, and the average speed in the 60 mph zone was 71.

A total of 449 traffic citations have been issued during the crackdown, which began July 1.
