Drivers heading south on Interstate 435 in Missouri can expect more traffic slowdowns because of construction work between I-70 and Raytown Road.

The work to repair pavement and resurface the interstate started Wednesday night and will continue nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through July 20. Work crews also will be closing the ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-435 nightly through Sunday.

Traffic will be directed to the next exit and sent back on westbound I-70 to access southbound I-435. The detour will be posted.
