Wizards waste scoring opportunities in 1-0 loss to Houston

The Wizards’ can’t blame their 1-0 loss to the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark to a lack of opportunities.

No, they had their fair share of those. The Wizards had plenty of scoring chances after a strong start, but simply could not tie the game after Houston forward Kei Kamara put the Dynamo ahead 1-0 in the 18th minute with a header after a nice cross from defender Mike Chabala from the left side.

The Wizards piled on the pressure in the second half, accumulating 10 of their 15 shot attempts in the final 26 minutes of the game. But most of them missed the goal, and the Dynamo held on for the win.
