Two Oklahoma escapees captured in Missouri

PONCA CITY, Okla. | Two of four inmates who escaped from the Kay County Jail have been captured in Missouri.

According to Baxter County, Ark., Sheriff John Montgomery's office, a Branson police officer stopped a vehicle about 12:30 a.m. Friday that had been reported stolen shortly after the escape.

The sheriff's office says officers took Ponca Green, who was driving, into custody. Benito J. Bustos, a passenger, fled on foot but was officers caught up with him a short time later after he jumped a retaining wall and broke his legs.

Two other escapees, Doyle Bertschy and Kenneth Sherrod, also escaped from the jail in Ponca City early Thursday.

The sheriff's office says Bertschy has family in Baxter County. He and Sherrod may be in a silver 2007 Chrylser 300 that has Oklahoma license plate 379-DMX.
