Man wanted in Kentucky shooting arrested in Grain Valley

LEXINGTON, Ky. | Lexington police say they have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a custodian at a middle school.

A police statement says Brian Allen McGuire, 27, of Lexington, turned himself in Wednesday afternoon in Grain Valley. He was arrested and was being held in a detention center in Kansas City.

McGuire’s father, William McGuire, told The Associated Press he had received a call from Lexington police letting him know about the arrest. McGuire expressed relief that “nobody else was hurt.”

Brian McGuire is charged with murder in the shooting death of Jose Daniel “Danny” Donato, 38, of Nicholasville. The shooting occurred Tuesday morning at Leestown Middle School. No students were present.
