LAWRENCE | A lawsuit against the University of Kansas over the firing of the director of the Spencer Museum of Art has been dismissed.
Andrea Norris sued the university and former Provost David Shulenburger after she was fired in 2004. Norris, who had been director of the art museum on the university campus for 16 years, said the firing was degrading and damaged her career.
Douglas County District Judge Sally Pokorny granted the university's motion to dismiss the case. She said Norris did not show that Shulenburger acted improperly, and the university had supported his decision to fire Norris, who was seeking $112,000 in damages.
Norris has 30 days to file appeal the ruling.
