ST. LOUIS | Former Crawford County collector Danny Wayne Gladden was sentenced to more than two years in prison for federal tax evasion.
The 27-month sentence was handed down Friday. U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway says the charge was connected to Gladden's failure to report more than $300,000 of funds he embezzled as collector.
Gladden is 56 and lives in Steelville. He was convicted in September of four felony counts.
In April, Gladden was found guilty of 22 counts of felony stealing. He was originally arrested in 2005 after it was discovered that thousands of dollars were missing from county coffers.
