ST. LOUIS | Two people suspected of carjacking a vehicle in St. Louis have been killed while fleeing police.
The suspects tried to elude officers Saturday night by driving the wrong way on Interstate 70 and struck another car, injuring four people. Police said the other car was also stolen but unrelated to the carjacking.
The chase began when a St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy spotted a vehicle that fit the description of a car involved in an armed robbery and carjacking in St. Louis County.
Department spokesman Lt. Craig McGuire says the deputy tried to stop the car but the vehicle rammed him and one of the suspects fired shots at the officer.
