FORT RILEY, Kan. | A soldier from Florida was shot and killed in Iraq this week, the Army said Thursday.
Master Sgt. Anthony Davis, 43, of Deerfield, Fla., died Monday in Baaj, Iraq, after being shot by an Iraqi soldier while he was conducting a humanitarian food drop, the Department of Defense said in a news release.
An investigation into the shooting is being conducted.
Davis was assigned to the Military Transition Team, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley.
