Day care director convicted in boy's death

TOPEKA | A Topeka day care provider has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 6-month-old boy in her care.

A Shawnee County jury found 35-year-old Michelle Bolze-Sann guilty Friday in the July 2007 death of Zachary David Typer. She was also found guilty of aggravated endangering of the child.

Bolze-Sann was operating a licensed center at her home when Zachary died.

She testified that Zachary somehow got between the mattress and a railing in his crib. She tried to perform CPR on him after finding him there but the boy died.
