William Jewell observatory to hold star-gazing open house

The Pillsbury Observatory at William Jewell College will sponsor an open house from 9:30-11 p.m. Friday at the campus in Liberty.

The free event will provide an opportunity to view all four of Jupiter’s largest moons, which will be lined up in a row on the east side of the planet. In addition, the Great Red Spot will be facing toward Earth.

The observatory is in the college’s White Science Center.
