Man arrested after officers see pedestrian robbed

A Kansas City man was arrested late Thursday following a short police chase after two police officers saw him robbing a pedestrian near 37th and Main streets, police said this morning.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. while the officers were patrolling the area. They saw the man drive off in a red Ford Probe and chased him. Police said they think the man was driving a vehicle that had been stolen on Wednesday.

The pursuit ended moments later at Truman Road and Oak Street when the robber crashed. He was quickly arrested, police said.
