Hit-and-run driver injures 1, knocks out power in KC neighborhood

Kansas City police today were looking for the driver of a white Cadillac who caused an accident that injured another driver and knocked out power to area homes and businesses.

Police said the Cadillac was westbound on 30th Street about 1:45 a.m. when the speeding driver ran a stop sign at Brooklyn Avenue. The Cadillac struck a silver Ford Fusion, then slammed into a power pole and overturned.

The occupants of the Cadillac fled. The 58-year-old driver of the Fusion suffered serious injuries.

Crews from Kansas City Power & Light were working early today to restore power to everyone.
