Southern Johnson County commuters need to prepare for more traffic problems on U.S. 69 beginning today.
U.S. 69 will be down to one lane in two locations in addition to where traffic is already funneled into one lane at 143rd Street and again near 103rd Street farther north.
The highway will be narrowed to one lane where it crosses the Union Pacific Railroad tracks just north of 215th Street. It will also be down to one lane on the northbound bridge that crosses 207th Street.
The work is part of a $650,000 project to repair the bridges, which are just north of the Miami County line.
