A man was stabbed Wednesday night in a high-rise apartment building near the University of Kansas Hospital.
He was rushed to surgery with life-threatening wounds.
A resident spotted the bleeding man in an elevator and called police at about 10:30 p.m. The victim was collapsed in the lobby when emergency officials reached the scene at 2314 W. 39th Ave., said Sgt. Robert Melton of the Kansas City Kan., Police Department.
Police were searching multiple floors of the building Wednesday night, working with little information. Melton said the victim was uncooperative; he only gave his first name and disclosed nothing about the suspect.
