A wreck in Buchanan County injured four people Friday evening. After the 6 p.m. accident, a 21-year-old man was flown to Heartland Regional Medical Center. Two children and a teen were taken by ambulance.
The accident happened on Route A one mile south of St. Joseph when a 17-year-old young woman driving southbound swerved off the road and then overcorrected, the Missouri Highway Patrol said. She drove her Chevrolet Cavalier across the center line, prompting a Honda Civic in those lanes to swerve into her car.
A passenger in the Cavalier had serious injuries. Two passengers in the Civic, ages 7 and 8, had minor injuries. The teen driver of the Cavalier also had minor injuries.
