Man found shot to death in KC parking lot

Kansas City police are investigating the shooting death of a man about 10 a.m. today in a parking lot near Sixth Street and Grand Boulevard.

The victim was a black man believed to be in his 20s. Police spokesman Sgt. Tony Sanders said surveillance cameras at a gas station next door to the parking lot may have captured images that will be useful in the investigation. There were also witnesses who gave police a vehicle description.

Sanders said the shooting did not appear to be related to a shooting incident that happened about 3 a.m. today around the corner near 220 Admiral Blvd.

Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
