KU's Little has surgery to repair fracture

LAWRENCE | Kansas coach Bill Self says senior swingman Mario Little had a successful surgery Thursday to repair the stress fracture in his lower left leg.

Little was rated the No. 1 junior college transfer out of Chipola Junior College in Florida last year. He sat out the first four weeks of practice last season to rest the stress fracture.

The injury bothered him throughout his junior year. That along with a broken hand caused him to miss 12 games last season.

Little averaged 4.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game last year. He will be able to return to the court by June 1.
