Lawrence police investigate separate stabbings

Lawrence police this morning were investigating separate stabbings that wounded two men, one of whom ended up at a Kansas City area hospital.

About 1:45 a.m., a 32-year-old Lawrence man was taken to a hospital after being stabbed in a fight at the Cross Town Tavern, 1910 Haskell Ave., Sgt. Craig Shanks said.

The man's injuries, multiple cuts to his eyebrow and arm, were not thought to be life-threatening. The suspect was not in custody this morning.

About 8:30 a.m., another man who had reportedly been stabbed showed up at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

The 36-year-old Lawrence resident apparently sustained his injuries during a domestic dispute with a 36-year-old Lawrence woman, Shanks said.

The man was transferred to a Kansas City area hospital, Shanks said. Details on the extent of his injuries were not available.

The woman was not hospitalized.
