Overnight checkpoint in KC yields 10 DUI arrests

Police arrested 10 motorists for driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint last night in south Kansas City.

Officers stopped a total of 349 vehicles between 11 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. today at Blue Ridge Boulevard and Holiday Drive, police said.

In addition to the DUI arrests, police issued two tickets for driving with a revoked license, one for eluding police, two for minor in possession of alcohol, one for possession of marijuana, one for failure to wear a seat belt, three for hazardous moving violations and six for other traffic charges.

Jackson County sheriff’s deputies assisted with the checkpoint.
