Second body found in Missouri state park is ruled a homicide

TROY, Mo. | Investigators have identified the woman whose body was found in a roadside ditch in Cuivre River State Park.

The St. Louis Major Case Squad said 44-year-old Jacqueline R. Jones of Foley was struck and killed along the road early Friday morning. Officials are looking for the driver who hit Jones but said it may have been an accident as the victim was wearing dark clothes, the road was poorly lit and it was raining.

A St. Louis County coroner ruled the death a homicide Friday and Lincoln County Sheriff Mike Krigbaum asked the case squad to help investigate.

The case squad was already investigating the death of 28-year-old Nicole Tayon of Winfield, whose body was found 10 miles away from Jones also in the park. They now say she died of a drug overdose.
