Work planned for U.S. 71 in northern Cass County has been canceled because of bad weather, officials said this morning.
It will be rescheduled for next week. U.S. 71 was supposed to be reduced to one lane the next several nights so workers could install girders for a new interchange at 187th Street.
The new $10.1 million interchange will connect to a parkway running from Holmes Road to U.S. 71. It’s also supposed to provide another highway exit to Belton and Raymore. The interchange is not supposed to be done until June 2010.
